U16 Lge 10/11 10:00
St Patrick's Boys AFC 4 - 2 Hanover Harps AFC

The majority of the action in this game occurred in the first half. St Patrick's Boys started the half well and were one nil up after seven minutes courtesy of a Cian Kelly tap-in from a well delivered corner kick by Ben Ward. In the eleventh minute Junior Hernandes scored from a penalty for St Patrick's Boys to make it two-nil. Hanover Harps rallied and were rewarded with a penalty of their own which Cian Lawlor finished with aplomb. In the thirty-second minute BJ Akpoyen scored from another St Patrick's Boys corner kick and Junior Hernandes rounded off the scoring in the last minute of the first half to leave the score 4-1 at half time.

The second half was a quieter affair with both defences on top. St Anne's AFC v Nurney Villa AFC
A Game Of Two Halves
10/11 11:00
St Anne's AFC 1 - 1 Nurney Villa AFC

A very competitive match this morning by two fine teams. Nurney seemed to have the upper hand in the first half with Nurneys top goal scorer Ian Craddock finding the back of St Anne's net after 10 minutes. St Anne's were able to keep Nurney at bay up to half time.

St Anne's came into the second half with alot more determination and fight. St Anne's had numerous attempts on goal but couldn't seem to get it passed Nurneys goal keeper Kyle Clarke who pulled off some great saves. Eventually St Anne's determination paid off with a goal from Robbie Murphy after a we'll taken corner from Aaron Mackey. Both teams created more opportunities but it ended all square at 1-1.

A great performance from both teams and a very entertaining match to watch.

St Anne's goal scorer: Robbie Murphy

Best performances for St Anne's: Robbie Murphy and Ryan Morgan.

Nurneys goal scorer: Ian Craddock

Best performances for Nurneys: Corey Searson and Kyle Clarke.

Hanover Harps AFC v Freebooters
10/11 14:00
Hanover Harps AFC 2 - 2 Freebooters

The opening exchanges were very equal in this top of the table clash with both teams cancelling each other out. Freebooters looked dangerous from long balls in behind the Hanover defence. Both teams looked dangerous from corners and Hanover had the best chance in the scoreless first half after Kate McDonald switched the play and put Siofra Adams through on goal and her shot was brilliantly saved. The game really came to life in the second half as Hanover finally got their slick passing game going and really began to ask questions of the Freebooters defence who held strong and Hanover almost scored from 2 separate free kicks from Kelly O'Neill and Kate McDonald. Katie Byrne then made a great run straight at the Freebooters goal but lost control of the ball as she lined up to shoot. Hanover eventually made the pressure count when great work from Wiktoria Gorczyca resulted in Katie Byrne scoring from close range. Freebooters equalised immediately from a corner and then went ahead minutes later from the penalty spot. Hanover pushed for an equaliser and had a number of half chances before finally equalising with a brilliant finish from Siofra Adams after excellent work again from Gorczyca. Fia Murphy in the Hanover goal then made a super save from a long range effort and the game finished in a draw which was a fair result. Best for Hanover were Fia Murphy, Niamh Brophy, Kerrie Smith, Kate McDonald, Wiktoria Gorczyca and Siofra Adams

Crettyard United AFC v Parkville United AFC
U15 Lge 10/11 12:45
Crettyard United AFC 2 - 1 Parkville United AFC

The game began with Crettyard keeping very good possession and created some decent chances early on. Shane Buggy’s attempt the most note worthy when the ball was fizzed across the box and all it needed was a tap in but the ball was missed. Parkville then caught Crettyard on a very good counter attack which they won a free kick from a dangerous area. The ball was well delivered and headed in the a Parkville man.

Crettyard reacted to conceding well and were level 10 minutes later when Buggy dinked the ball into the path of Luke Bailey, and he made no mistake in front of goal to make it 1-1. HT.

The second half was well balanced and both teams having spells of possession and good attacks. However, the home team claimed all 3 points when Peter Grogan took a corner with 10 minutes to go which Bailey headed home for his and Crettyard’s second goal of the game. 2-1 FT.

Best for Crettyard: Luke Bailey, Peter Grogan, Ross O’Neill and Jack Dowling
