Parkville United AFC v Vale Wanderers AFC
Parkville edge vale in cup final
04/05 11:00
Parkville United AFC 1 - 0 Vale Wanderers AFC

This was always going to be a close match with both sides evenly matched. Parkville started the stronger on the day but a strong vale defence held firm.

The supporters were treated to a excellent game of football from both teams with both attack and defence playing there part on the day .

It was 0. 0 at the break.

The second half started like the first with parkville on the attack and after 5 mins of the second half parkville got there reward after a goal mouth scramble in the vale box the ball fell to Patrick o byrne who slotted it past the vale keeper.

This seemed to spark vale into another gear and again

Some great defending from parkvilles defence kept them at bay.the match finished 1 nil to parkville

But a lot of respect has to go to the vale team who in an all round team performance made it a game the supporters will remember.

For parkville the same has to be said

An all round team performance is what won out on the day. It would be unfair to single any player Out from either team.

Wexford Albion v Hanover Harps AFC
04/05 16:00
Wexford Albion 4 - 5 Hanover Harps AFC

U15 SFAI Regional Final

Hanover Harps 1

Wexford Albion 1

Hanover win 4-3 on penalties

Jason Brennan proved to be Hanover's hero in the penalty shoot out, saving 2 spot kicks before captain Harry Lloyd converted the final penalty to claim the Shane Long trophy and SFAI Regional title in Tramore on Saturday. There was little between the sides from the start with possession fiercely contested in midfield from the off. As the game settled Harps had a couple of efforts from distance just off target from Stephen Smith and Harry Lloyd. Brandon Kelly was constantly probing and causing problems for the Albion rearguard while Kyle Foley and Jamie Furlong were giving nothing away at the back. The second half saw Harps gain slightly more possession and eventually this told when Stephen Smyth pass put Kelly through on goal, Kelly's first touch taking the keeper out of the game and his second putting it into the net. Albion came on strong in the final quarter and a couple of fine saves from Brennan kept them at bay. But the pressure told in the final minute as Albion equalised to force extra time. All the chances in extra time fell to Harps, Stephen Smyth seeing an effort his the post and rolled accross the goal line and another Smyth effort, this time a diving header was brilliantly tipped around the Post for a corner. After that it was down to penalties where Harps held their nerve and Brennan produced the saves to earn the win. Hanover Harps: Jason Brennan, Mikee Horohan, Cillian McGrath, Dylan Doyle, Kyle Foley, Jamie Furlong, Kyle Nolan, Jack Begley, Harry Lloyd, Ronan Quinlan, Aaron Bowden, Brandon Kelly, Stephen Smyth, Jack Murphy, Diarmuid Long, Jack Dunne.

Nurney Villa AFC v Vale Wanderers AFC
Under 12 League Division 2 Shield Nurney Villa 3 Vale Wanderers 2
04/05 10:00
Nurney Villa AFC 3 - 2 Vale Wanderers AFC

In their final game of the season Nurney Villa once again done it the hard way, coming from 2 goals down to beat Division 2 Shield winners Vale in an even contest at home on Saturday morning.

After Nurney dominated the early exchanges, winning 2 corners within the first 5 minutes, Vale opened the scoring through Conor Kavanagh.Aiden Nolan then doubled their advantage as they got on top before Ian Cradock pulled one back for the home side just before the break.

The second half was very balanced with both sides having chances before Ian Cradock fired home for Nurney to tie up the scoring. He then completed his hat trick with a shot that just crept past the Vale keeper.

Although Vale pressed hard they just could not force an equaliser with Nurney hanging on at times and forced into numerous goal line clearances as the game ended with a victory for the home team.

Apart from the goalscorers, best for Vale included Ciaran Nolan and Thomas O Donovan whilst Nurney had stand out performances from Thomas Sheehan and Lee Maher.

After finishing the season on a winning note Nurney were presented with their trophy for winning U12 Division 3
