Both sides started well but Burrin looking for their first win in the competition were the slightly hungrier, as both sides tried to prise open each others defences it was Burrin who took the lead just before half time when Padraig Eustace slid the ball across the goal and Edward O Byrne was there to finish and leave it 1 0 at half time. Hanover came out in the second half determined to make their mark on this game but came up against a very stubborn Burrin defence and when Burrin turned defence into attack Padraig Eustace was there this time to blast the ball to the Hanover net, Hanover kept pushing for a score and their efforts paid off with a great strike from Bailee Cooney and the game finished 2 1. St Joseph's AFC v New Oak Boys AFC
U16 Lge 16/02 11:15
St Joseph's AFC 1 - 4 New Oak Boys AFC

The second time for these two teams to meet this season St Joseph’s hosted New Oak in McArdles Cross. The game started evenly enough with both teams settling quickly and creating chances at both ends. After 15mins in the visitors took the lead and opened the scoring. Just before half time joeys got one back after Max Bolger broke through the New Oak defence to slot one home. Half time 1-1. The second half was a different game with New Oak controlling most of the play and adding another three goals to their tally and only for some fine saves by Callum Carter they could have had more. Joeys did create a few chances but were not able to convert and Cian McCreanor was unlucky not to convert a free form just inside the visitors half. Final score 1-4.

St Joseph’s Goal Scorer - Max Bolger

Best for St Jopseph’s - Josh Donegan, Cian McCreanor, Adam Ormand, Luke Broderick and Mark Mullen

Burrin Celtic AFC v Crettyard United AFC
16/02 10:00
Burrin Celtic AFC 0 - 3 Crettyard United AFC

Crettyard started off much brighter than Burrin creating all the early chances with Darragh Byrne keeping his side in contention as he has done for the majority of the season. Crettyard made the breakthrough capitalizing on a mixup in the Burrin defense. This woke Burrin up with Shane Duffy creating a lot of chances for his side. Although Burrin creates chances they couldn’t capitalize and they went in 1-0 down at half time. Frankie Fitzgerald created what was the chance of the day for Burrin splitting the Crettyard defense wide open beating the keeper and putting the ball across the line screaming for a Burrin player to get on the end of it but nobody got there quick enough. Fitzgerald again burst down the wing beating the crettyard defense and put the ball in with Adam Dee hitting a thunderbolt off the post. It wasn’t to be Burrins day as Crettyard got on top from here putting away 2 great team goals. Best for Burrin were Frankie Fitzgerald Shane Duffy and Darragh Byrne.

Scorers for Cretty were Mikey Murphy, Kyle Kehoe and Adam Buggy with Michael Dempsey, Maya Brennan and Riain Cullen putting in great performances also.

Hanover Harps AFC v Corinthian Boys P
16/02 14:30
Hanover Harps AFC 3 - 0 Corinthian Boys P

Harps booked a place in the quarter finals of the SFAI Cup after this win over Corinthians from Cork. Hanover got off to the perfect start when Kyle Foley flicked Kyle Nolan's corner to the net on 5 minutes. The wind assisted visitors had a lot of possession for the remainder of the half. The closest they came to levelling matters was when Harps keeper Jason Brennan flicked a rasping drive on to the crossbar and away to safety. Harps started the second half when quicker than the first and doubled the lead within 60 seconds of the restart when Ronan Quinlan's speculative effort from 25 yards found the net. Corinthians pushed on in search of a goal but the decisive third goal arrived 15 minutes from time. Brandon Kelly turned his marker on the end line and his pin point cross was headed home by Stephen Smyth to seal the win for Hanover and cap off an excellent team performance from all 14 players on the day.
