St Patrick's Boys AFC Green 0 - 4 St Anne's AFC

St Annes U15s defeated St Pats U15 green team four nil in an entertaining game played in Graiguecullen. The first half was a very even affair with both teams having chances. St Annes went into the break with a one goal advantage. The second half followed a similar pattern to the first with the next goal being all important on the day. St Annes got that score from a corner kick. St Annes ran out relatively easy winners in the end with two more goals to put the icing on the cake for St Annes. The scorers for St Annes were Denis McEvoy, Jessie McEvoy, Aaron Langrell and Keith Hickey. Best for St Pats on the day were Adrian Sendyk and Lwazi Ndolvu,

St Patrick's Boys AFC Pink v Hanover Harps AFC
u12 promotion 17/02 13:00
St Patrick's Boys AFC Pink 1 - 0 Hanover Harps AFC

St. Patrick's Boys AFC (Pink) did well at the Meadows today to take the points on offer against Hanover Harps AFC. Little separated the sides in the first half with each team creating a couple of scoring chances, however at the break it was level at 0-0. St. Pats started the second half stronger and maintained pressure throughout. Hanover Harps played good football and were unlucky not to convert from a free kick just outside the area mid way through the half. It looked like the points would be evenly shared with approximately 5 minutes to go until Aoife Kelly took a long range shot which rattled the Hanover net. St. Pats dug deep to keep possession for the short time remaining and ran out deserved winners in the end. Dean Quigley, Jamie Coakley and Megan Townsend did well for Hanover Harps while Maeve O'Neill, Lily O'Neill and Aoife Kelly did well for St. Pats in a very good overall team performance.

Crettyard show Racism Red Card day

On Saturday 22nd October Crettyard UTD AFC Juvenile club "Showed Racism the red card!"

Our small club is located off the N78 in rural county Laois , situated close to the borders of both Kilkenny and Carlow.

Our engagement with the campaign was simple but effective . Both our Under 13 and Under 12 teams were playing their league games against Hanover Harps and Vale wanderers . Both Cretty yard team managers Ramon Buggy and Martin Rice gave full support by allowing pre match preparation to be interrupted by Aine Geoghegan (Club Secretary)

Crettyard United AFC v Milltown United AFC
u13 div 2 17/02 11:15
Crettyard United AFC 11 - 0 Milltown United AFC

The game started at a high tempo with both teams pushing forward. Crettyard had the first meaningful opportunity but failed to hit the target, Miltown showed early in the game that they came to play and were very unlucky not to find the lead when a shot narrowly missed the post . crettyard took the lead shortly after when a through ball was well finished at the near post. Cretty made it 2-0 just before the break. The second half started well for cretty who immediately scored there third. Miltown pushed on to try and get back into the game and had some great patches of play but could not get on the score sheet. Crettyard took control after and finished out the game 11-0 winners. The scoreline was very harsh on Miltown who were well in the game up to the 45th min. Best for crettyard Zach Byrne, callum hogg and Jack Gorman, a great team effort from Miltown.. The format for the u8 and u9 is also going to be blitz with four teams at each venue playing dual games so there will be four matches going on at the same time on a full pitch. The example below shows what happens when there is two teams and two more will play in the other half and then swap over. With the u8 and u9 everybody will play three 20 minute matches (10 Mins a side). In the event we have uneven number of teams some weeks clubs will just play one game.

U11 and U10 Blitz Format
Blitz procedure

This year the format for u11 and u10 is dual games as above in the diagram so there is two games going on at the same time across a big pitch. There will be one official ref and the clubs take it in turn to officiate the other game. The ref swaps pitches at half time so all kids get equal time with ref. There will be four teams at most grounds every week unless a club ask for the day off. If two of the teams are from the same club then we play two 40 minute matches (20mins a half) to avoid the club playing against itself.

Saint Fiaccs v saint pats Perfect playing conditions today for this local derby. From the start Fiaccs were on the offensive and it didn't take long for them to take the lead with a lorcan Dempsey strike . This was followed soon after with a stunning header - again by lorcan Dempsey. Pats kept their heads up and defended very well but Fiaccs kept coming and got a third goal from Dylan Murphy. The second half seen pats try to attack more but Fiaccs keeper Ben Cullen was not to be beaten today. Fiaccs sealed the deal with two more goals - one for Aiden Bradley and one Daniel Corcoran. Final score Fiaccs 5 pats 0. Best for Fiaccs Noah haughney Ben Cullen and Danny McGrath. Well done to all that played.

Celtic responded and Frankie Fitzgerald got Burrin back on level terms, he then got Celtic the lead when a scuffed shot caught the Villa keeper by surprise and nestled in the back of the net. New Oak Boys AFC v Burrin Celtic AFC
good home win for new oak boys
u14 div 1 17/02 11:30
New Oak Boys AFC 1 - 0 Burrin Celtic AFC

On a lovely spring morning both teams served up an entertaining game trying to play the right way. Both teams had plenty of possession but were struggling to create any clear cut chances and it remained scoreless at the break.

New Oak started the second half on the front foot and were rewarded when Adam Shaw scored a fine goal from a tight angle five minutes in. This set back made Burrin up there game and they tried hard to force a way back in to the game but were finding it hard against a hard working New Oak team. With time running out Burrin were forced to go for it which left gaps at the back for New Oak to exploit but some fine goalkeeping from Kyle Foley in the Burrin goal kept the score at one nil.

It was a good all round team performance from New Oak.

Best for Burrin were Andrew Synoradzki, Evan Corr and Ronan Lawlor.
